What We Offer
Initial Psychiatric Evaluation: a comprehensive assessment of your history, current symptoms, your needs and your goals. There is a discussion pertaining to diagnosis and treatment recommendations which may include medications or other interventions. Appropriate referrals and recommendations may be made to seek interventions such as TMS, ketamine, or ECT or additional workup when warranted (such as lab orders or other specialist referrals). The visit concludes with a thorough discussion of the information presented. Dr. Ferrera likes to answer her patients questions and provides additional education and resources so that her patients can feel empowered and confident about decisions regarding their care.
60 minutes $440
Psychiatric Follow-up Sessions: A visit for established patients to continue to assess your treatment response or progress and consider appropriate diagnoses, medication management or adjustment, as well as other interventions.
30 minutes $220

Extended Psychiatric Follow-up Sessions: This visit type is available to patients who are established but require extended time due to a significant event or have had an extended absence from care. This visit is also suitable for patients that would like more in-depth exploration and/or re-assessment.
45 minutes $330

Each session is designed to allow enough time to thoroughly address your concerns and treatment needs. Dr. Ferrera is a able to see patients for medication management and incorporates therapeutic modalities in her sessions when warranted. Frequency of appointments, duration of sessions, and cost are discussed on an individual basis.​

THERAPY
During your visit psychotherapeutic elements may used from various modalities such as supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychotherapy. This provides additional support for your path towards wellness.

TELEPSYCHIATRY
Our telepsychiatry service is perfect for individuals with busy lives who want to do their best to treat their mental health but find it difficult to coordinate their schedule and availability. We are a great fit for patients who would like to see a doctor from the comfort of their home or office.

PSYCHOEDUCATION
Our goal is to provide a full circle approach regarding medications, lifestyle changes, and psychoeducation. This provides a deeper understanding of your symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment so you can make the best informed decisions.

IN PERSON APPOINTMENTS
At this time most appointments are being conducted via our secure video application that can be used on any electronic device such as a phone, computer, or tablet. Select in person visits at teh discretion of your doctor are available in the Palm Beach County (FL).

1) What is the approach of Dr. Ferrera's Psychiatry Practice towards mental health care?Dr. Ferrera's Psychiatry offers compassionate mental health care with evidence-based practices, focusing on personalized treatment plans to empower individuals to achieve lasting well-being. Dr. Ferrera can provide telehealth appointments to patients in Florida, offering select in person appointments in the Palm Beach County area.

2) Why telepsychiatry?Telepsychiatry is a way of receiving psychiatric care through secure online video appointments. There is substantial evidence of the effectiveness of telepsychiatry. Telepsychiatry is equivalent to in-person care when it comes to diagnosis, treatment, and quality of care. With the push for more telehealth services we have been able to provide patients with access to care by reducing barriers such as transportation, child care, or time off from work in order to attend their appointment.

3) Does Dr. Ferrera prescribe medication?She offers medication management services that are tailored to each patient. There are times when medications is not warranted or recommended. Each person receives a unique approach.

4) Do you take insurance?We are NOT in-network with any insurance plan. This approach allows us to provide personalized, high quality care without the limitations and restrictions often imposed by insurance companies. You pay directly for each session. Some insurance companies will reimburse you for your visits with Dr.Ferrera. This will be dependent on your insurance carrier. We can provide you with a form (superbill) which you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement after the appointment. You can also pay using your HSA or FSA account.

6) Can I use a health spending account or a flex spending account (HSA/FSA) to pay for my visits?Yes! You can use an HSA or FSA funds to pay for your visits.

7) Will Dr.Ferrera provide therapy?Therapeutic elements are provided within the sessions. Dr.Ferrera focuses on medication management in addition to integrating therapy within her visit. However, most patients will still benefit from having a therapist they can visit with regularly that provide at least 45-60 min appointments to be able to work through a full therapy session.

8) What is the wait time to schedule an appointment with Dr.Ferrera?While there may be a wait to see Dr.Ferrera, we will try and provide you with an appointment as soon as possible, we are currently able to book within 2 weeks for an intake appointment and usually within 1 week for a follow up. When warranted we may be able to provide same or next day appointments for urgent matters. We provide you with the best care and individualized treatment available.

10) How do I communicate with you or access my information between appointments?All patients are invited and encouraged to use the Simple Practice Patient Portal account which allows you to view, download, and print documentation, view and change appointments, send secure messages, and complete pre-appointment forms or additional documents.

11) Do you allow late cancellations or appointment changes?We ask that patients cancel or change appointments that they will not be able to attend as early as possible. Appointments canceled or delayed within 48 hours of the scheduled time will be billed at the full visit rate.

12) Do you see patients with addiction?Many people struggle with addiction. Dr. Ferrera cares for people with a history or current addiction as long as the person is willing to participate in appropriate therapies to manage their addiction. We do not currently have the ability to provide the required induction or maintenance of methadone or buprenorphine for treatment of opioid use disorders. We encourage individuals requiring these specic treatments to seek specialized clinics that can cater to these needs. We are also not able to provide adequate medical supervision for those experiencing complex withdrawal symptoms from alcohol or benzodiazepines.
